As good as bad can be

To answer the 'how bad is it?!' question. I suppose if you must slide your hand along a razor, it's better to use your left hand. And if you're planning on doing that, it's great if you 'just' slice the muscle pad at the base of your thumb. It really didn't even bleed much and it was a clean straight cut. Four stitches. Except for stretching my hand wide I have total mobility. Frankly, the tetanus shot in my right shoulder has caused me more discomfort. We went out to dinner Sunday night and I couldn't carry my leftovers cause on the left side it hurt my hand, and on the right, my shoulder. It still hurt last night.

I must say its nice to finally get a perk from being married to a doctor (cause the big house and big bucks haven't done it for me yet!) When the P.A. told me to come back in 5 days, I pointed to Jrex and said, 'He's a doctor, can he do it?' She laughed and said, 'Sure'! The nurse came in to give me the wound care speech and said, "And come back in 10 days--wink wink--to have these removed.'

Not only can JRex remove the stitches for you, but then he can kiss it all better when he's done. A win-win.

It could be much worse: at least you won't suffer the ignominy of having your klutziness immortalized by your darling in oft-performed, plaintive song. I'm just sayin'....

Ugh! I've been cathing up with your goings on. Yikes!

I see what I have to look forward to when we move to our "charming" fixer upper in August.

And I am being COMPLETELY sarcastic when I say charming!

Get Better!

Well, you'd think he could diagnose me, but he's all honorable and stuff and makes me go to my primary care doc. I'm just glad he's willing to take out the stitches! (OK, he did modify that stance to say he'd do a scrip for allergy spray if I needed it--but Claritin seems to be working fine).

k--shouldn't there be some rule about only writing things about your own pain? Well, I guess all my whining is a bit of pain for Jrex! Yeah, I always thought the songwriter husband would be so romantic, thanks for the reminder of the downside. I still think, "You're so vain" is one of the best breakup songs.

Misfit--I feel the pain in the words 'fixer-upper'. That will NOT be fun. Esp with little kids.

Oy! So sorry to hear about the house hassles, especially those that involve personal injury.

I only have time for a quick check-in, but know that I am sending good thoughts to you and Jrex.
