Aaaaannnnndddd more news only interesting to me...

Email from the headhunter:
Just wanted to touch base with you. I have heard very positive feedback from [Company Initials] regarding your interview. They are looking to hopefully make a decision by the end of the week. I will be in touch as soon as I have more information.

-----------------
The good news is that they gave her the positive feedback BEFORE the Fabulous Hand-made Thank You cards that I sent on Friday.

This one is for the first guy I interviewed with. Content/Concept: 'I would love to continue the conversation.'

For the nice California-man. Concept: 'I'd love to work among such able craftsmen.'

For Cynical Man of the famous "What scares you?" line of questions. Concept: 'I would love to join such strategic thinkers.'

-----------------
What? What's the job, you ask? Here's Earnest Man's answer when I asked what they were looking for:

"Well, there are a lot of great designers out there. We know that, our clients know that. In many ways we're forging new design territory. We're more than just trade show or event designers. Instead of our clients coming to us to say, 'here's what we want', we're going to them to say, 'this is what you should do'. We need someone who can think strategically, who can design where nothing exists, who can write phantom text and then design around it. Someone who can interact directly with clients with persuasive pitches, who can work with a team but then run with it individually."

I continued with another well-articulated, scinillating question while inside I was jumping up and down, "It's me!! Pick ME!"

Ooh, I hope you get it. Here's hoping that the news from the headhunter just gets better after those three guys get your fabulous handmade cards. (Where did I miss the lesson about sending thank yous to interviews? It's a wonder I've ever been employed.)

Why would this be news only interesting to you? Puh-lease. I hope you get the job, if only because the interviewers sounded interesting.

And I missed the lesson about thank-you notes to interviewers. If ever I switch jobs, I'll have to remember....

Apparently, hardly anyone ever sends thank you notes anymore, the usual mode is an email. At my current contract job I asked my supervisor about it; she said among designers it was half email/half cards. Another designer here said she's had a couple jobs where they were already inclined to pick her, and the thank you card just cinched the deal. I just wanted another chance to show them how I think and to remind them I have a fine art side...

If I got any of those thank-you notes, I know I'd hire you AND buy you lunch every day.

Those cards are gorgeous. I admit that when I've hired people, the thank-you card has often been a helpful part of my decision making. If I got one of those cards, you'd be IN like flint.

The job sounds amazing. I hope that the powers that be realize that you are the right choice!

I hope you get it...the cards are AMAZING, there are so many days I wish for a ounce of the brain you have when it comes to this kind of stuff! Wow!

Then I remember I'm an analyst, not a designer, never will be, so there you have it right!

Wow!

Good luck, can't wait to hear about how it continues!

So, I've just finished catching up on all my blog reading...next on the list is catching up on my blog writing ;)

Love the cards, and stand amazed once again at the awesome creativity you have. The kind I sometimes envy since I have just enough to want to do the kinds of things you do and not enough to ever pull them off.

I'm waiting on the edge of my seat to hear what happens with this job...
