There are blogs which are updated daily or almost daily. Most of them consist of short, pithy/funny and/or thought-provoking entries. Other blog authors seem to take days or weeks to craft longer entries.
I often don't have time to really CRAFT a blog entry, but since I enjoy frequently updated blogs, I opt to just toss something up here.
Would you prefer more crafted/less frequent, or less compelling/more often? (we know the answer is supposed to be 'crafted AND frequent!', but that's not always realistic.)

I prefer thoughtful at all times. Too many quippy entries and I unsubscribe. I am brutal.
More crafted/less frequent but not mile long so that it's not daunting to read. What you've been doing is PERFECT I say. don't change a thing. =)
I agree with the previous posters.
:-)
I like what you're doing too. I write when I have something to say and like to read those that are similar with some meaningful content. I do enjoy seeing a bit of variety and although it's not necessary that a blog be all things, it can be when it's done well. A good writer can make travel, renovation, cooking, and any other topic as meaningful and pithy as is appropriate to their writing style.
Just like I go to different movies expecting different things, such as action, romance, adventure, I visit blogs for the same variety. Bloggers that look as if they posted just to post turn me off pretty quickly.
I'd say what you're doing works for me.
ditto all of above, but i also enjoy very long posts.
I like how you're doing it---write when you're inspired to write. Doesn't have to be every day. Love your blog. MIME
I like your blog it feels just 'right' !
I love your blog and always enjoy new posts. I think you have a great balance of interesting posts that may or may not be deeply personal and then posts that are more personal. In fact, if I could learn to be less longwinded and not use my blog for therapy, I would want my blog to be more like yours. =)
Thank you all for the encouragement! I was having a bit of an identity befuddlement and this helped a great deal. Cheers
I struggle with this on my own blog... and out of the desire to just POST SOMETHING ALREADY I often end up throwing up a lot of silliness!
That said, I MUCH prefer the thoughtful stuff (like your beautiful post on contentment). That's what makes me come back to a blog.
(And I know someone else mentioned that you should keep an eye on the length, but I think if the content is good it won't matter how long it is.)
(But I'm biased because I write ridiculously long posts.)
This one's a no brainer.
Write when you have something to write.
